Where to stay? Why not try Hotel Rose

We used www.hotwire.com and were able to book a two-night stay for about $200 bucks. With its iconic food cart gatherings, anti-establishment murals and even a doughnut shop that performs weddings, it's no wonder the mantra of this town is “Keep Portland Weird.” And right in the heart of it all you’ll find Hotel Rose, a funky, fun and “oh-so-Portland” boutique hotel located directly across from Tom McCall Waterfront Park on the beautiful Willamette River.

 Must try eats and drinks:

Stumptown Coffee – the line will likely be out the door but it is worth every sip

Voodoo Donuts- A perfect accompaniment to your cup of joe and some of the wackiest donuts on the planet.

Pok Pok-  Serves food found at pubs, restaurants, homes and the streets of Southeast Asia with the majority of the food coming from Thailand, and specifically from the North and Northeast of Thailand. This is an INCREDIBLE food experience.  *They don’t take reservations but you can grab drinks at their corner bar “The Whisky Soda Lounge”.

Clyde Common- Named by “Food and Wine” Mag as one of the 50 best bars in America. Clyde Common is a European style tavern serving delicious food and drinks in a casual and energizing space.

Burnside Brewery- My husband is a total beer enthusiast and out of all of the places we went he rated this as the most unique and thirst quenching brew. Entertainment:

Doug Fir Lounge- This is a great place to go and see a show!

Portland Market- This is an eclectic craft market right across the street from Hotel Rose on the River. Lots of vendors and lots of options…

The Rose Garden- Obviously this is a great place to go and smell the flowers, but it is also a perfect run from your hotel. Portland’s International Rose Test Garden, unofficially known as the Portland Rose Garden, is the oldest official continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States and features more than 10,000 roses.

We had such a lovely time in Portland, so I thought I would share!

Cheers,

Hailey
